Welcome to the U.S. Science Support Program Application Portal.
The U.S. Science Support Program (USSSP) Office facilitates involvement of the U.S. scientific community in the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP), an international program of basic research in marine geosciences that explores the Earth’s history and environment by recovering core samples and other data from beneath the ocean floor.
You can use the USSSP Application Portal to apply for:
- Workshop support
- Pre-Drilling Activity support
- Sailing scientist positions on an IODP expedition
- Post-Expedition Activity (PEA) awards
- Schlanger Ocean Drilling Fellowship
- Sailing education/outreach positions through the Onboard Outreach Program
- School of Rock
Detailed descriptions of these programs and their submission deadlines can be found on the U.S. Science Support Program website.
Step 1. Make sure to click on the Sign In button at the top of the page. If you are new to the USSSP Application Portal, click on the Sign Up button to set up an account.
Step 2. Once you complete the sign-up process, you'll get an email to confirm your registration. (Make sure to check your spam box just in case.) Please add us to your safe sender list so that you can continue to receive messages from us.
Step 3. Select a program to apply for and start the application/proposal submission process. Upload all application material through the USSSP Application portal, following the instructions you'll see when you log in. You can begin an application or submission, then come back to complete the submission process at any time before the program deadline.
